Coffee and cake help women bond in Northallerton

We have just had our very first social in Northallerton – a coffee morning for togetherfriends members and potential members.  It was such a success – 11 women met and bonded over coffee and cake, and all the women agreed that togetherfriends was a great way to meet other women like themselves who they could arrange to meet either one to one or as a group.   Some of the women worked, some were retired, some were married or had partners, some were single. It didn’t really matter. What was important was that they were all there for a specific reason – to make friends and find others who they could meet for coffee, cinema trips, walks or meals out.

They were so keen that they set up their very first club – Northallerton coffee club which will meet on the first Saturday of every month.   This is how the Ilkley clubs started, with a monthly coffee morning.  Togetherfriends Ilkley has now developed into a supper club, book club plus lots of other events inbetween, so it just shows that big things can grow from small beginnings.

I’m so delighted that the coffee morning went so well.  But I knew it would. Women just get on. They have a knack of it. They are at ease with each other talking about jobs, families, hobbies and holidays.

Now we have Ilkley, North Leeds and Northallerton up and running, I am keen to introduce similar clubs in other towns. I’ll be hitting Skipton, York, Harrogate and Huddersfield in the next couple of months.
