Looking for a penpal who you can contact online?
When I was young I had a penpal - She lived in Luxembourg and we corresponded by letter regularly. We even visited each other - our first trips abroad without the parents. I loved having a penpal - She was the same age as me and it gave me a small insight into another world.
The art of letter writing has virtually disappeared now, but we can still connect with others in the new online format. There is so much talk at the moment about loneliness and isolation. With lockdown, more people living on their own, it is easy to become out of touch with those around you.
This is where togetherfriends can help. We offer friendship to women in the UK, matching members to each other depending on where they live, their interests and age. They message each other securely via the website, get to know each other and in normal times, meet up for coffee, a meal, a cinema trip or a walk.
But in these difficult times, we could almost say that togetherfriends is a penpal site, where members can write to each other and keep connected with those who live close by. There is so much they can share - information on their families, work, interests, where they like to walk or go out for meals, what films and books they like. It's amazing how people can get to know each other in this way. And when eventually we come out of these difficult times, you will have the treat of meeting in person and building on the friendship further.
So let us help you find a penpal/new friend, who also wishes to reach out to those around them.
